Remember you can communicate with me, as well as your class through Teams. Teams can be found in Office 365 on John Pritchard School’s homepage. You can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The geese challenge from Monday... I estimated 14 geese. Today I saw 12!! That brings my total to 18. So I was a little off, but super happy to see 12 geese on such a nice day. It means SPRING is coming!
A challenge for next week ... I know it is SPRING BREAK 😁 but if you would like something to do.
Find the area of your bedroom. You will need some form of tool to measure with. If you don’t have a measuring tape be creative! Share your measurements and area on Teams so everyone can see! If you would like an extra challenge find the areas of 2-3 more rooms in your house.
For next week... please do something for your:

Happy Spring Break!

Today we went for a ride in our truck to find out Mr.Olsen’s secret location. Earlier this morning Mr.Olsen shot a video of him at a secret location and challenged the staff to find out where he was. My oldest daughter pointed out Assiniboine Park and then we saw Assiniboine Zoo. My daughters and I shot a video at the same location. We found where he was!!! I placed my video in the shared documents called 'I found Mr.Olsen's Secret Location'.
I have not seen any Canadian Geese in the last few days 😐
I hope you are all finding time to get some exercise!!! And I hope you are able to communicate with friends and family. If you have a chance to watch the Coronavirus video in my links I strongly recommend it... it is amazing how quickly this virus can transmit.
Send me a message on teams or to my email. Take pics of what you are doing!

So I went for a walk this morning with my girls hoping to see some geese in the sky but no luck. I even stayed out 15 minutes longer than my girls!!!
There are a lot of people walking by our house and down our street so this is what we put on our window this morning (see attachment). It reminds me of my mom as she used to sing this song to me when I was little and it reminds me of my two girls when they were little as I sang that song to them. It certainly puts a smile on my face and I’m hoping to do that to those that go for walks by our house.
You can login into your school account and access Teams... both 7A and 7B mathematics are setup. You can send me a message, take pictures of what you are doing to everyone in your class or just me or both!
Does anyone know how you might find the area of a triangle if you were to take a parallelogram and divide it into 2 equal triangles???

I am getting some questions on what you can do with math. I would encourage you all to complete 1-2 Estimation 180’s and a Would You Rather (your choice as to which one(s) you’ll do) a day. Any of the shared documents that have the words ‘squares’, ‘rectangles’ and ‘parallelograms’ in the title can be reviewed and completed if you wish.
I saw a total of 6 Canada geese yesterday! So far I have seen 0 today.
I am providing you with a link to the Provincial Young Worker Readiness certificate. This is a required certificate for anyone who is 13, 14, or 15 and wishing to start working. It will teach you what your rights and responsibilities as a young employee are, and what your employer can legally ask you to do.
The course will take about 1.5-2 hours to complete. It is mandatory if you want to start employment in the province of Manitoba, but you do not need to complete the certificate as a requirement for Applied Arts. Your parent/guardian will have to sign the completed certificate to make it valid.
You will need an up-to-date computer/laptop with speakers, or a tablet. Smartphones are not recommended. If you do not have a printer, you can save your completed certificate as a pdf, and print it when we return to school.

Be sure to get outside and get some fresh air! Amazingly enough I saw 4 Canadian Geese flying in the blue skies.
You could estimate how many Canadian Geese you see by the end of the week and write it down... but you have to get outside! Create a tally chart on a piece of paper to see how close your estimate is at the end of the week.
Report Cards will be available online on Wednesday March 25th at 3pm.
