Woodworking Technology

Students in grade 6, 7 and 8 at Arthur Day Middle School have Woodworking as one of their Applied Arts options. In Woodworking students will learn the basics of hand tools, wood identification and measurement. As they continue through the course, students will use more advanced machinery while developing patience, psychomotor skills, problem solving skills and most importantly a positive safety attitude.

All topics previous listed will be taught from a hands-on project based learning, assuring everyone can take home projects they can be proud of. The tools and skills learned and developed are part of a knowledge base that will be useful in life after school.
